Why is Judie Mancuso Slinging the Mud?

Hello PetPAC Members,
Over the last four days we have continued to pick up steam and our campaign is growing by leaps and bounds daily.  At the CVMA Meeting, former President Dr. John Hamil delivered a ten minute talk on why CVMA should drop their support of this ill conceived and invasive measure.  Apparently, the Board didn't have a quorum so they couldn't take any action...

Senator Simitian's Town Hall meeting in Palo Alto was an overwhelming turnout of his constituents who were opposed to this measure.  The issue of the Santa Cruz "model" has now been brought into the light.  And when you expose the truth about Santa Cruz their whole argument falls apart.  Santa Cruz since their mandatory spay/neuter went into effect have done WORSE on reducing shelter intakes than the rest of the state. Their shelter expenses INCREASED by 93%, while the state average went down 10%.  The buzz in the State Capitol is how Judie Mancuso, the Campaign Director on the Yes side has misled legislators on this critical foundation for AB 1634 and they are not happy about it.  Also at the Town Hall meeting, Judie Mancuso approached Bill Hemby and pleaded with him not to mention PETA was supporting the bill.  Judie swears PETA isn't giving her any money.  Well PETA is supporting the bill and spending a lot of money trying to get this bill passed.  Judie is particularly upset that Bill made a reference to PETA extremists throwing animal blood on people in the past.

But apparently Judie Mancuso doesn't have a problem with throwing mud on people.  She is so desperate she has resorted to mudslinging about me, Bill Hemby, COPS, breeders, AKC, law enforcement, cat groups, the Pet Industry and just about everyone else opposing this bill.  For the record (and I'm sure Judie is reading this since she is so obsessed with us), Bill Hemby is one of the most honest, hard working and animal caring people I have ever met.  He and his wife, Cindi are currently taking care of several rescued dogs.  Furthermore Bill Hemby is a retired police officer who has earned the highest awards from the San Francisco Police Department for his service in the line of duty.  To practice character assasination upon Bill Hemby shows how little respect you have for all of us who oppose this measure.  Judie Mancuso you should be ashamed of yourself for behaving in such an immature and irrational manner.  When you resort to mudslinging you've already lost the battle.

Of course, Judie's taunts and mud slinging started when we showed the facts that mandatory spay/neuter legislation will result in more dogs and cats being sent to shelters and cost taxpayers more money.  The Santa Cruz Model has cost taxpayers a bundle with results worse than the state average.  The truth hurts...

Well today, I was on KTLK radio in Los Angeles.  The "Progressive" station called me wanting to do an 11 minute interview to talk about the California Organization of Police and Sheriffs opposition to the bill. Today COPS sent out 200,000 emails to their members to urge them to speak out against AB 1634.  Well after 1 hour on the program, they got Judie Mancuso to call in and the first thing she did was call me a liar.  Really classy.

Some interesting notes from our debate is she denied holding any fundraisers for Assemblyman Levine's Senate campaign.  I was told there was a fundraiser scheduled which has her listed (if anyone has a copy please send it to me).  Two hours after I started my 11 minute interview the program ended with Judie Mancuso agreeing to meet with me on Monday at 2pm across the street from the Capitol so I can show her the Santa Cruz study conducted by PetPAC which exposes the truth about AB 1634 and how inaccurate, irrational and misleading her claims have been.  I told her I'm bringing my dog Kobe, I don't get to spend enough time with my dogs (although my cat loves how much time I'm spending in the office) since I've been working overtime to defeat this bill.  She said she wouldn't mind if I brought my german shepherd dog as long as he didn't "attack" her.  I couldn't believe her words and it really shows her disdain for our pets.
