Bob Winters
July 25th, 1936 - May 2, 2008
Bob Winters was born and raised in Berkeley CA. and has lived on the Mendocino coast for 23 years. He was a caring and compassionate person. That care and concern was not just for people, but for animals as well. For 28 years, we had Dobermans and he loved them dearly. They were different from our fluffy white American Eskimo and his hunting dogs, Labrador and Springer from his past. He loved that I trained the Dobermans in a number of things through the years, obedience, tracking, protection, schutzhund, fly ball and agility. He loved catching them in action on film or in digital. He was always patient and supportive of all the time and energy it took for the training. They were all his "buddy". Whatever they did, good or bad, was just fine and dandy with him. I always said they loved him best, because he just gave them treats and practically constant petting. He believed strongly in the defeat of AB 1634. He believed that particular law would not make the majority of people that do not follow the rules with their dogs do so whatsoever. They're irresponsible and will continue on in that way. AB1634 would just harm the responsible people.
